Planned Roadworks for the Estate

Dear Resident

Resurfacing of the roadway is planned for part of Hillside over the two days Mon & Tue 5 & 6 August 2024, from #19 (adjacent to the 'SLOW' road marking at the sharp bend) down to #12.

For the safety of all, the road will need to be closed for the two days. Diversions will be via Warren Lane/Windmill Lane/A259/Michel Dene Road/Deneside. Advance road closure signs will be in place shortly.

Resurfacing of Warren Close is planned for Tue & Wed 6 & 7 August.

Both Hillside and Warren Close will need to be free of parked vehicles; residents of both roads have already been advised to park on their drives or, if their car is needed over the respective two days, then to find an alternative parking place.

The contractor's machinery is large and may enter the Estate via Michel Dene Road/Deneside and/or Windmill Lane/Warren Lane. Will you please avoid parking on the roads on these routes over the three days.

For Hillside, the resurfacing is planned to start adjacent to #12 and work upwards.

Please advise any of your contractor/delivery teams of the above works and restrictions.

On Monday 5 August, the waste collection in Hillside will likely be missed (the road contractors are advising ESCC and WDC of the resurfacing).

On Tuesday 6 August, the Cuckmere Bus service will be unable to travel down Hillside but will follow the diversion.

This email is being sent to all on the Downlands Estate for whom we have an email address. Earlier emails have been sent to residents of Hillside and Warren Close. If you are aware of a neighbour who does not have email and may be impacted by the above, please let them know of the arrangements. A brief article will be in the August Parish Magazine.

If there is any change to these arrangements I will of course let you know.

Thank you

Stewart
